Ah, summer! That time of year when virtually the entire northern hemisphere chucks the routine and heads out to the beaches, the mountains, the national parks...except, of course, those of us who have to work. And there is that small matter of a global recession that may put a crimp in things. Maybe we should just crank up the AC and read a good book about travel:
Travel writing is one of the most beloved and most widely collected of all non-fiction subjects. And although tens of thousands of titles have been published over the centuries, by using our mini collection strategy (discussed in numerous previous posts), it is entirely possible to build a very nice private library around this subject without expending a whole lot of money.
Over the next few days, we will explore a number of subgenres associated with travel. While many of these subgenres offer very inexpensive routes to building a private library, at least one will require a bit of patience and money....
